Cruising amongst the Galapagos Isles

Introduction
The Galapagos Islands lie on the equator 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. They provide a fantastic tableau of prehistoric creatures found nowhere else on earth. Charles Darwin arrived here on the Beagle in 1835 and studied the isolation of the wildlife. His observations of the unusual plants, birds and animals such as giant tortoises eventually led to the hypothesis of evolution by natural selection. Different in style to our other tours, here we offer the chance for independent-minded travellers to join a locally operated cruise.

At Sea in Style
Using a Tourist Superior Class ship, we make an extensive tour around the Galapagos in comfort. The motor yacht has 8 cabins with a capacity of 16 passengers; cabins are well appointed with twin berths, and all have private facilities. Generally, we sail on to our next destination overnight, allowing maximum time visiting the islands.

Cruising the Galapagos Islands
We explore the islands in groups of 16 people, accompanied by a naturalist guide who will explain about the extraordinary wildlife. You will catch a glimpse of prehistory as dragon-like land and marine iguanas crawl over the black lava and be amazed by flightless cormorants and penguins on the equator! Fearless, but far from tame, wildlife can be approached closely and photography is superb. Birdlife includes the blue-footed booby, albatross, and the incredible frigate. Look out for giant tortoises, fur seals and dolphins.
