Trips to the Amazon

Explore Amazonia
21 days - Voyage Down the Mighty Amazon on MS Explorer

Lower Amazon
Snaking through the Lower Amazon, we explore narrow waterways and small islands, where houses rest on stilts along the shoreline, and locals paddle out to greet passing ships; we'll see two-toned whirlpools and discover beautiful clear-water lakes - home to the small grey tucuxi and pink boto Amazonian freshwater dolphins. We explore the fascinating city of Manaus before continuing deeper inland to the Peruvian Amazon.

The Amazon Heartland
Using Zodiac boats we explore the many smaller rivers that meander through this environment, we visit typical villages on our journey deep into Amazonia. The Upper Amazon is abundant in exotic wildlife, deep tropical rainforest and a vast array of indigenous people - an unforgettable experience. Our voyage ends in Iquitos, Peru.
